Kids Music Day was founded by husband and wife team Vincent James & Joann Pierdomenico as part of their Keep Music Alive Mission. Held on the first Friday of every October, the 1st Annual Kids Music Day in 2016 saw 85 music school and music retail locations participating in 23 states. For the 2nd Annual Kids Music Day in 2017, over 420 locations in 40 states, Canada and beyond participated. Their mission is to promote the VALUE of MUSIC: For our children's education, for the many types of therapy music is being utilized for and for our overall happiness. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn how to play music and every adult needs to be reminded that its never too late to start playing.
To help support this mission, we have founded Kids Music Day and Teach Music Week. Together, we partner with hundreds of music school and retail locations in the US, Canada and beyond to bring more music to their communities and offer free lessons to new students.
Keep Music Alive was initially self-funded and received their 501c3 status in October 2017. All donations to Keep Music Alive are tax-deductible and support Kids Music Day, Teach Music Week and our ongoing donations of music instruments to schools and communities in need. Our Federal EIN Number is 82-2571853
